The Digital And The Deep – Completely In The Canal Hearing Aids

admin | February 5, 2010

The popularity that reading glasses have enjoyed in the worldwide market has never been matched by any other form of aid for the physically impaired before. Reading glasses started off as chunky and bulky accessories and evolved into lighter and more stylized versions of their previous counterparts through time. In a very similar fashion, hearing aids are barking up the social ladder and crossing the threshold from seldom used to widely accepted. Hearing aids have become less visible, more reliable, more efficient and lighter in the past decade, and are now used by people of all ages suffering from hearing impairments. Gone are the days when they were frowned down upon and not given their rightful due just due to their sheer size.

Hearing aids are of many types, and you can pick your kind by consulting with your audiologist to just make sure whether the right bands of frequencies are supported by the specific type of hearing aids that you are considering. The various types available in the market are: In The Ear hearing aids, In The Canal hearing aids, Completely In The Canal hearing aids, Behind The Ear hearing aids and Cochlear Implants. There are half shell and full shell versions of In The Ear hearing aids too. These vary basically in their external structure and design.

Completely In The Canal hearing aids are the smallest version of hearing aids available in the market today. They are really discrete and tiny and are entirely present within the ear canal. These hearing aids are custom made so as to suit the requirements of every individual user. The components of the Completely In The Canal hearing aids are made really miniature and they are fitted inside a very small shell which can be placed within the canal of the ear. Thus the process requires a lot of skill and efficiency to work wonders. These hearing aids are the most difficult kind of hearing aids to manufacture. They also provide great output and reduced distortion. The gain value obtained is high and the amount of feedback and its respective effect on the user’s hearing is less. They are comfortable and are not tacky or difficult to manage as they are wholly located inside the ear. They also allow the user to use headsets and other form of wired devices on the ears without getting in the way and hence disabling them of the use of the above products. However, their expensive nature and low hearing aid battery life are the major causes of concern. Replacing the battery is a job done hard and internal factors like earwax and moisture can affect their working.

Resound hearing aids are a very reliable brand of hearing aids.

Good Design Practices

admin | August 17, 2009

promo-web-design

Your website is where your business resides — it’s like the headquarter of an offline company. Hence, it is important to practise good design principles to make sure your site reaches out to the maximum number of visitors and sells to as many people as possible.

Make sure you have clear directions on the navigation of your website. The navigation menu should be uncluttered and concise so that visitors know how to navigate around your website without confusion.

Reduce the number of images on your website. They make your site load very slowly and more often than not they are very unnecessary. If you think any image is essential on your site, make sure you optimize them using image editing programs so that they have a minimum file size.

Keep your text paragraphs at a reasonable length. If a paragraph is too long, you should split it into seperate paragraphs so that the text blocks will not be too big. This is important because a block of text that is too large will deter visitors from reading your content.

Make sure your website complies to web standards at www.w3.org and make sure they are cross-browser compatible. If your website looks great in Internet Explorer but breaks horribly in Firefox and Opera, you will lose out on a lot of prospective visitors.

Avoid using scripting languages on your site unless it is absolutely necessary. Use scripting languages to handle or manipulate data, not to create visual effects on your website. Heavy scripts will slow down the loading time of your site and even crash some browsers. Also, scripts are not supported across all browsers, so some visitors might miss important information because of that.

Use CSS to style your page content because they save alot of work by styling all elements on your website in one go.

If yes, then you are better off becoming an electrician. If you think that you are too old probably to pick new skills up and become an electrician- think again! Most of these electrical courses are so designed that people belonging to the age groups of 20-70 can easily understand, comprehend and adopt these courses. In fact, recently I have seen a lot of people belonging to the older lot, take up the job of being an electrician and most of them have been really successful at their new ventures. Heating Radiators: Which one should you really pick?

admin |

When you look at the choice of heating radiators available at your disposal, you’ll find the list to be really vast, ranging from the Cast Iron heating radiators, Multi Column Radiators, Bathroom Radiators, Radiator Cabinets and Valves, Stainless Steel Rads down to the Aluminium Radiators, Designer Radiators and the Flat Panel Radiators.

When you look at the purpose served by each of these you’ll realize that the Cast iron radiators happen to be the most efficient heat emitters that are capable of holding the heat for longer duration, in comparison to the standard steel panel radiators and the others.

Remember, the contemporary style designer central heating radiators present you with good looks, but come at a higher cost, while the traditional ones offer smooth operation and come at a relatively lower price.
You can seek help from a professional plumber to get these heating radiators installed, or you can do it on your own too.

Good old Notable Jukebox Models

admin | June 24, 2009

Considering the history of the fascinating  rockola jukeboxes, the rockola jukebox model 1413 was the first one to hit the market. It was rolled out for the masses during the year 1942, and dominated the market for close to 5years. It was more like an alien-shaped device, while the subsequent model resembled the violin stems.

In 1953, the Seeburg M100C was offered along with dashing Chrome glass tubes at the front, and capacity to play music records at 45 rpm. Soon after that the Rock-Ola 1438 Comet was unveiled in 1954.

Equipped with glass panels, another one called the Seeburg HF100R was offered. It was featured with Icicle chrome on the grill as well as glass panels. It had band-shell appearance with anodized chrome and also 5-speakers with superb sound quality. Rock-Ola 1438 Comet was another one offered soon after the Seeburg HF100R, which was provided with a square animated title bar.

Solar Heating – Nature’s Way

admin | June 18, 2009

The one who uses the gifts of nature wisely is the happiest. Another method of solar heating and cooling is the use of deciduous trees. When planted  to the south of the house the leaves of these trees provide shade in summer keeping the house cool, whereas in winter when they shed their leaves the southern sun falls on the house, warming it.

The Solar Heating and solar lighting during winter may be reduced by 1/2 or 1/3 due to these southern trees – hence it is not suggested to plant the trees in the south in the countries with significant heating costs – but to the west and east of the house. This kind of planting will allow minimum Solar Heating during the summers and effective solar gain in the winters. The greenhouses are built to the south of the house to get maximum Solar Heating, for most part of the day.

Welcome to my home.

admin | March 26, 2009

Welcome to my home.

What can I say? My name is Dan and this is my CyberDwelling.

You’ll find my life, love, work and play within this site; as well as my outlets on life and some pretty cool stuff for yourself.

It’s nothing fancy; but it works and it’s mine – My work, my life and my property – Want a site like mine? Don’t RiP it; learn how to do it yourself by reading one of my tutorials!!!

Enjoy the site and let me know what you thinks.

- Dan -

Site News Reel:

06th March 2005 @ 20:28GMT

Version 2 is in production; I know version 1 is not quite complete yet; but I’ve run into a few bugs that cannot be easily quashed and I want the site to be somewhat futureproof; so version 2 is going to be 100% XHTML and CSS valid – Trust me; this is not as easy as it sounds; especially for someone like me that has always coded in “dodgy” html up until now; if you want, you can check out the building area here.

28th February 2005 @ 22:17GMT

Well the site is really starting to take shape now. I’ve just rewritten some of the backend scripts and have just written and introduced a dead file grabber because I noticed a few people getting 404, File Not Found errors… This should now eradicate the problem as it has a built in search function that scans the bad URL and keywords which it then cross-references against the page content database. It also saves a copy so I can track down problematic links. Still working on the site regulary so please stay tuned.

24th February 2005 @ 21:33GMT

The main bulk of pages have been inputted into the database and the majority of hard-coding is now complete. After a pretty hard going week at work; this new project has really gave me something to take my mind off of things – Unfortunately my 8Ball program hasn’t gave me good answers to some of the more important questions I’ve asked it. Maybe you’ll have better luck (It can be found in the PHP scripts section of the site).

14th February 2005 @ 19:13GMT

The site has been published and I’m just starting the real hardcore coding for it; I apologise for all of the dead links in advance and I’ll be adding all of the page contents very soon… As you can see, the site is driven by a MySQL and PHP combination with CSS and HTML for the frontend; hope you like it – Simplistically sweet in my opinion.

10th February 2005 @ 20:39GMT

I’ve finally settled on a solution; these are my domains and it’s my server, so why not just be myself and launch my own place on the Net? You’re viewing this page because this is my home on the Net and it’s me… 100% Dan!

5th February 2005 @ 21:18GMT

I need a new outlook on life. My online business ventures have all been flops and although I’ve provided the best; the Net is goverened by price and from what I see; people are more willing to put up with the odd amount of poor service if they are getting it real cheap – What a load of bollocks; if you want my opinion it’s time to get real… I’m closing all of my sites down and pretty soon you’ll see a new me as I relaunch myself.

Stay tuned guys and gals because I will be back!
